FutureSketch workshops are for matrics, grade 11s and undecided post matrics. This 2.5 hour interactive workshop helps matrics to understand employability, how careers and qualifications are connected, why skills are important, to start thinking about their values and strengths, and how to research their options. Maximum 25 learners.

· In Every December since 2021,   I have offered this workshop as my pro bono contribution to the grade 11s of Claremont High School.

· In July 2023, I ran this workshop for the grade 11s and 12s of the Be Part Yoluntu Centre in Mbekweni Township outside Paarl
 

Workshops can also be organised by a school or youth organisation. Price per learner can be negotiated for specific school groups.

Training After School support staff at REAP (Rural Education Access Programme): 

I have partnered with REAP for various initiatives, upskilling staff who work in the 5 rural High schools that REAP supports in the Northern Cape, Free state and Limpopo. My role is to train staff to support grade 11s and 12s who are making choices about what to do after school.

Grade 10 subject choice project for REAP: 

In October 2024, I spent a week in the Northern Cape visiting Rathang Thuto High School and Kuilsville High School and a week in the Freestate visiting  Kgololosego Secondary School and Kagisano Combined school building on the work I did at Gobetse in 2023.

In October 2023, I spent a week at Gobetse Senior Secondary school in Limpopo, assisting grade 9s, their parents, Gobetse staff and REAP staff, to help grade 9s make better informed subject choices for grade 10. See my LinkedIn post on this here: (25) Activity | Ingrid van der Merwe | LinkedIn 

Career Café initiative run by AVA (Action Volunteers Africa)

In 2022, I joined AVA on June the 16th in Darling and on the 10th of August in Rawsonville and ran a repeated career choice workshop for farm children in Darling and Year Beyond youth in Rawsonville.
