Consultations
One to One Consultations
Consultations are conducted in person at 4 Stanford Rd, Claremont at the Shayne Fourie Physiotherapy premises.
Virtual consultations are also offered on request via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
These are the types of consultations that can be booked:
FutureSketch consultations (Grade 11,12 or recent matriculant)
These are for matrics, grade 11s or post matrics who would like to explore their options after leaving school. Clients will fill in an online questionnaire which is used to prepare for a 45-minute consultation. Parents or guardians are invited in at the end for 15 – 20 minutes, to ask questions and to conclude the discussion. After the consultation, I compile a document outlining possibilities discussed and detailed course information with links to more information which is emailed to the client and parents.
- R 1 450 (the fee includes preparation beforehand, 45-50-minute consultation with client, 20-minute discussion with parents or guardians as well as time spent on feedback and information which is emailed after the appointment)
FutureSketch Consultations for grade 11 and matrics who are Student for a better Future (SBF) scholars.
I see the matrics on this programme on Fridays at the SBF offices. Only scholars on the SBF programme may book these slots
Student, post matric, graduate and young professional consultations
Book this appointment if you are:
- A student wanting to look at your career options and maximise your career development and employability
- A post matric who has a specific and/or urgent decision to make and feel they are at a crossroad in their life. (e.g. when matric results come out, and young adults are not accepted for what they have applied for or have had multiple offers and do not know what to do.)
- A student who is failing or not enjoying the course they are in and do not know what to do.
- A student wanting to discuss their options after graduation
- A student wanting help with a CV or for any applications (for jobs, scholarships or postgrad applications) or help with their LinkedIn profile
- A graduate or young professional (5 years after graduating) wanting to look at work options
- Interview preparation for students, graduates and young professionals
R 1 000 for 1 hour consultation (The fee also includes preparation beforehand and feedback and information sent afterwards)
Subject choice for grade 10
These are for grade 9s who are choosing subjects for grade 10. Grade 9s fill in a questionnaire to explore their interests and experience of subjects and I request to see their latest grade 9 and end of grade 8 reports, as well as any subject choice parameters that the school may have before the consultation. Extensive career knowledge is not necessary for subject choice, as long as one is aware of the gateway subjects and what study options, they make possible. Grade 9s are encouraged to choose subjects with this in mind, and I also help them to do further research into the subjects they are considering. Parents are invited in for the last 20 minutes of the consultation.
- R770 for a 30-minute consultation with the grade 9, and 15-minute discussion with parents and grade 9 together. (The fee includes preparation beforehand and compilation of feedback afterwards)
Midcareer and career change /job search consultations
For those who have worked for some time and who need a change and want to consider other options.
- R 1 100 for an hour consultation (Cost also covers preparation and feedback and information provided after the consultation)
